DIPLOMA IN LEADERSHIP AND COLLABORATION

We offer a six-month program, leading to a Diploma in Leadership and Collaboration. The program is guided by a curriculum that integrates technical, management, and organizational contents, as well as models of leadership with a holistic approach to Transformational Leadership. Our program is based on adult and active learning principles, reinforced by selective readings and a series of personal and organizational challenges that we propose to the participants, so they can put what they learn into action. Participants receive support grounded in Coaching fundamentals by other members of the Association, who may be former students or collaborating experts.

We also offer development opportunities to the graduated students: workshops, the possibility to become a Coach for new members of the Association, facilitating sessions, and by being an active member in the network ALG promotes to share resources between organizations and leaders.

A typical scheduling module:

Friday Afternoon

-Circle of Trust 14:00 to 14:45 (45 minutes)
-Logistics 14:45 to 15:00 (15 minutes)
-1st Technical Session 15:00 to 18:00 (3 hours)
-Collaboration Session and dinner 18:00 to 19:30 (1.5 hours)

Optional: Movie night or other recreational activity from 7:30 pm

Saturday

Optional: Meditation practice 6:30 to 7:00

-Collaboration Session and breakfast 7:00 to 8:30 (1.5 hours)
-2nd Technical Session 8:30 to 12:00 (3.5 hours)
-Collaboration Session and lunch 12:00 to 13:30 (1.5 hours)
-Mentoring in pairs 13:30 to 14:30 (1 hour)
-3rd Technical Session, 14:30 to 17:30 ( 3 hours)
-Inspiration Session 17:30 to 18:30 (1 hour)
-Circle of Trust 18:30 to 19:15 (45 minutes)

Optional dinner

-Total of hours in each module every month: 18 hours
-Total of hours of the program: 108 hours

Module 1

Beginning the integration of Leadership Community

Objectives

Review what is the starting point of the leaders and where do they want to direct their leadership, using analytical tools and group reflection in the company of the new community of leaders that is being integrated.

Module 2

Professional relationships in a multicultural work environment

Communication, a fundamental tool for a leader.

Study the importance of communication in the practice of a leadership that inspires confidence.

Module 6

Closure retreat: The five pillars of transformative leadership.

Objectives

Identify the leader’s sense of propose, welcoming challenges and paradoxes through exercising principles that will support his or her leadership.

Other benefits for the participants:

>> Participants can share their organizational activities on ALG´s social networks and on our website, with the possibility to publish articles or be interviewed.

>> They can count on at least two mentoring sessions during the year with other leaders the Association has formed over the years to help them review their leadership goals.

>> The students will receive all the materials and resources used in the learning sessions, as well as a book each month.

>> The student will receive a diploma at the end of the course, certified by the Association for the Leadership in Guatemala.

>> After graduation, they are invited to participate in an Annual Alumni Seminar and other events, as active members of the Association.
